Absolutely not!

What energy efficiency rating do your windows achieve?

The British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC) created an energy efficiency standards scheme, which uses a rainbow system of ratings that scale from A+ to G that are used to certify the glazings energy efficiency. A+ is the most efficient and G the least efficient, the most energy efficient windows are those with an energy rating of A to A+ which are energy positive. We are pleased to say that all our windows are A+ rated.

I live in a conservation area, do you offer approved windows?

Yes, we can quote for either timber windows or we offer several options for UPVC frames which have been carefully designed to perfectly replicate traditional windows at a fraction of the price of timber, and with none of the maintenace. Both have been pre-approved by many local councils for use in conservation and restricted areas.

I'm thinking of placing an order.. what is your lead time?

It's fully dependent on current demand and on the products you order but as a guide it is 3-8 weeks from the point of order. Please enquire for a more specific lead time, relevant to your particular order.

How do I know if I need to repair or replace my windows?

If your window problem is minor then you might be able to repair the window yourself, however, it is always best to have the window looked at by an expert to determine if it can be fixed or will need a replacement window.

You can tell if you need new or replacement windows by checking through these statements:

My windows don’t open and close easily. In this instance, the window frames could have warped, started to rot, or may be the wrong size.

My windows are drafty. This issue occurs when a window doesn’t shut properly, the locking system no longer works, or the windows are single glazed. Windows with double or triple glazing are significantly more energy-efficient than single glazed windows, so you could end up saving quite a lot of money on your heating bills by switching.

I can hear outside noise from inside and the window is shut. This is usually a sign that the windows are very old and will need replacing.

My window is leaking. This is a sign that the seals around the glass have gone, replacing existing windows with new double glazed windows will be the most cost-effective option.

My windows are over 15 years old. We always recommend asking an expert if an old window is still in good enough condition or if a replacement double glazed window will be needed.
